Welcome to Beyond the Brush!

I am excited (and a little nervous) to take this step and open up a space to share thoughts, ideas, and behind-the-scenes reflections on my art practice, influences, and broader creative world. As someone who has worked as an artist, art teacher, museum educator, curatorial intern, museum interpreter, and coach, I’ve seen how much artists and creative professionals carry first hand. We wear many hats, juggle shifting roles, and often navigate it all in isolation.

Through Beyond the Brush, I want to rethink art and culture from the inside out. My hope is that this space becomes a place for reflection, critique and resource–sharing at the intersection of art, education, and institutional work.

Every Friday, I will be releasing a new blog post offering perspective and insight drawn from my experience as an artist, educator, museum professional & enthusaist. Topics will include:

  1. Education & Lesson Design: practical ideas for creative classrooms and public programs

  2. Museum & Exhibition Critiques: honest reflections from inside the gallery

  3. Artist Industry & Reflection: the hustle, the doubts, the breakthroughs

  4. Inspiration & Resource Curation: things I’m reading, seeing, making, and sharing

Whether you’re a fellow artist, teacher, museum worker, collector, friend, or someone who simply believes in the power of art, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates. This space is about connection–building a creative community that values honesty, curiosity, and the messy beauty of the work we do.

So join me and let’s rethink art from the inside out and go beyond the brush, together!

XO
