Tides Passage— 002 (Shell)

$65.00

Tides Passage – 002 (Shell)

Medium: Oil on clam shell

Surface: Ipswich-sourced clam shell, gesso-primed

Dimensions: Approx. 5 3/8” W x 3 7/8” H x 1 1/4” D

Date: 2025

Series: Ipswich Scenes Mini Series

Painted directly onto a hand-collected clam shell from the North Shore, Tides Passage captures the lush, layered brush of the Ipswich marshes beneath a violet sky. Saturated in deep greens and shifting blues, the scene reflects the stillness that settles just before the tide turns—a moment that feels both grounded and otherworldly.

Each shell in the Ipswich Scenes Mini Series is carefully prepared with a layer of gesso, allowing the oil paint to move smoothly across the curved surface while preserving the natural texture of the shell. The result is a one-of-a-kind miniature, shaped by the coast and framed by its own form.

Signed on the front. Title and artist’s name also appear on the back and along the shell’s edge.

Display Note: This piece does not include hanging hardware. Best displayed on a small easel, shelf, or nestled into a decorative dish. A display stand may be available as an optional add-on.

Pickup available for local buyers. Domestic shipping offered.
